Privacy-friendly analytics
To understand how the website is used, we measure visits with PostHog, an open-source analytics tool. How it measures depends on what you answer in the cookie banner. It runs on our own servers, and the script is loaded from our own website, not from ad networks or external analytics providers.
The measurement is designed to respect your privacy:
- Your visit is anonymous and we do not try to find out who you are. You can only be identified if you choose to give us your details, for example when you book a call with us or fill in a form.
- We do not follow you to other websites or build advertising profiles.
If you say no, or have not answered yet: without cookies
We measure the visit with PostHog in its cookieless mode. The data is sent to our own analytics service at a.advesign.dev. We use no tracking cookies and store nothing in your browser to recognise you between visits.
To count the pages you view during one day as a single visit, PostHog calculates an anonymous value on our server from your IP address, your browser type and a random key. The key is replaced every day and then deleted, so you cannot be recognised the next day.
If you say yes: PostHog with cookies
PostHog then stores a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser's local storage, kept for up to a year, so that we can see how visits connect over time and which parts of a page get clicked and scrolled (heatmaps). The identifier contains no name or other details about you.
You can change your answer at any time under Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the PostHog cookies are deleted and the website goes back to measuring without cookies. Your answer itself is saved in your browser's local storage and in a cookie on advesign.com that holds only the answer (yes or no) and is kept for a year, so the banner does not have to ask again on every page and so our booking page and forms follow the same answer.
What we measure
- Which pages are visited, and in what order
- Clicks on buttons and links, such as booking buttons, the language switch and links to other websites
- Where on the page clicks land and how far down the page you scroll
- The referring website and campaign parameters (UTM and the click identifiers that ad platforms add to their links), so we can see how visitors find us
- Approximate location at country or city level, and the type of device, browser and operating system
Session recordings
If you have said yes to cookies, we also record how the website is used during a visit, to see where our pages work well and where visitors get stuck: the page content, scrolling, mouse movements and clicks. Anything you type into form fields is masked in your browser before anything is sent, and is never recorded.
Why we process the data
We use the information only to:
- improve the content, structure and usability of the website
- develop and improve our services
- provide our services, for example by answering enquiries and making sure bookings work
- detect and fix technical problems
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website and services (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). We have concluded that this interest outweighs the impact on your privacy, because the measurement is limited, does not aim to identify you and is not used for marketing aimed at you personally.
When you have said yes and PostHog uses cookies, the legal basis is instead your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Storing cookies in your browser also requires your consent under the Swedish Electronic Communications Act.
We do not share your data
We never sell, rent out or share the data with third parties, such as ad networks, data brokers or other companies, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
The data is handled by us. Providers that run our technical infrastructure, such as web hosting, may only process it on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions, and may not use it for their own purposes. We only disclose data where the law requires us to, for example following a decision by a public authority.

When you contact us
Only when you book a call with us, fill in a form or email us do we receive details that can identify you, such as your name, email address and company. We use them to reply to you and deliver the services you ask for. These details are not passed on and are not used for any other purpose.
Along with your details, the form or booking receives the campaign parameters from the link you arrived through, the website that linked you here, the first page you visited and the page and button you sent it from, so we know how you found us. If you have said yes to cookies, it also receives the random PostHog identifiers for your browser and for the visit, which lets us see which of your earlier visits led to the enquiry (for example which pages you read before getting in touch).
If you have said yes to cookies, we also save how you first and most recently found us (the same campaign parameters, referring website and first page) in your browser's local storage for up to a year, so that an enquiry you send on a later visit can still be linked to it. It is deleted if you withdraw your consent.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address in our publishing system (Ghost) and use it only to send you the newsletter. The subscription only starts once you have clicked the confirmation link in the email we send you, and the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
The emails are sent through Mailgun, which processes your email address on our behalf as a data processor. To see what gets read, we measure whether a newsletter is opened and which links in it are clicked.
If you have said yes to cookies, we also pass your email address to PostHog when you sign up and when you confirm, and PostHog then uses it in place of the random identifier described above, so that we can see which visits led to a subscription. Without a yes we only count that a signup happened, and your email address is not passed on.
When you confirm the subscription, a cookie is stored in your browser for up to six months, so that the website knows you already subscribe and does not show the signup form again. It is used only for that, not for analytics or marketing.
You can unsubscribe whenever you like with the link at the bottom of every newsletter. We then stop sending you emails, and if you want your email address erased completely, email us at hej@advesign.com.
How long we keep the data
We keep the data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described here. After that it is deleted, or anonymised so that it can no longer be linked to an individual visit.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- find out what data we process about you and receive a copy of it
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data erased
- restrict or object to the processing

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or services change. The latest version is always available on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last changed.
