MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS

Find the patterns in your data

Your company is already sitting on a lot of information, it is just spread across email, the bookkeeping, ad accounts, the website and quotes. I join the bookkeeping (Fortnox or Visma), the time reporting and the ad accounts to your projects, and go through all of it to find patterns, for example:

  • The margin on each project while the job is still running
  • Which types of jobs give the best margin
  • What each channel costs per job won, not per click
  • What the cash flow looks like in the months ahead
  • When during the year the enquiries tend to come in

Then we go through the results together in plain language and talk about what you should do next, so you do not have to sit and interpret tables yourself.

This service is part of all three packages, from SEK 5,000/month, because the numbers have to be right before anything is built on top of them. See what the packages include →

HOW I DELIVER IT

Five steps, then analysis every month.

Going through your channels, described above, is steps 1 and 2; the patterns come in step 5. You always know what happens next, what I need from you and what you have in hand when a step is done. My overall process →

  1. Measurement plan

I start from the questions you need answered, then decide what has to be measured to answer them.

You get: a measurement plan tied to your goals

    I do

    • Agree the handful of numbers that actually matter to you
    • Map where the data sits: email, the accounting system, ad accounts, the website and quotes
    • Decide what counts as an enquiry, a quote and a deal

    You provide

    • An hour to go through what you want to know
    • A list of the tools you use today
  2. Enquiry tracking

Most of the confusion comes from enquiries being counted twice or not at all. This is where that gets fixed.

You get: every enquiry tracked to its source

    I do

    • Set up tracking on forms, calls and email
    • Record the source on every enquiry
    • Remove the double counting that inflates the numbers

    You provide

    • Access to the website and any call tracking
    • Who to contact about the website
  3. Connecting it to the deals

Tracking only pays off when a click can be followed all the way to a signed contract. If you have a CRM I connect the tracking to it, and if you work in spreadsheets I connect it to those instead.

You get: clicks connected to won deals

    I do

    • Connect the tracking to your CRM, or to the spreadsheet you work in
    • Follow each enquiry through to quote and outcome
    • Check the numbers against reality with you

    You provide

    • Access to wherever you keep the deals today
    • That outcomes are recorded on deals
  4. Dashboard

One view you can open on a Monday morning, instead of five tools that disagree.

You get: one view with your key metrics

    I do

    • Build a dashboard with the metrics from the plan
    • Show cost per enquiry and per won deal
    • Set it up so it updates by itself

    You provide

    • Who needs access to it
  5. Regular analysis

Numbers don't change anything on their own, so I bring recommendations, not just charts. It all goes through the same monthly review, so it is one meeting a month rather than one per part.

You get: concrete recommendations each month

    I do

    • Look for patterns: margin by job type, which channels bring customers who buy, and when in the year the enquiries come in
    • Go through the numbers in plain language and what changed
    • Recommend where to put more and where to stop
    • Adjust the measurement as the business changes

    You provide

    • 30 to 45 minutes a month for the review

FAQ

Questions about measurement and analysis.

How is this different from Google Analytics?

Analytics tools show what happens on your website. I connect that with ad data and your CRM so you can see what visits lead to in quotes and deals.

Which metrics should a construction company track?

Common ones are leads per channel, the share that turn into quotes, quote win rate, cost per won deal and order value. Which matter most for you is decided in the measurement plan.

Can you use the data we already have?

Yes, in most cases. I start with what's already in your ad accounts, analytics tools and customer records and build from there.

How does this help our marketing?

Once you can see what each channel delivers in won deals, you can put your budget where it works. That is the core of data-driven marketing.
